Some of the Photographs especially, TheY are causing N-me an actual physical "reaction" when I view the image.

2 me that is **ASTOUNDING**
Some of the images almost seem 2 feel as IF they were specifically shot 4me. to teLL me something.
LiKe it's our own LiL secret between just me & that person (in the pic).

I have a visceral response to alot of the images.


Ok, now the Intention of this POST is to Hmmmm, not sure if im actually asking for advice, opinion, or for your help.

I SO badly need a creative outlet in my life right now & have been so inspired by Ya'aLL
that Im considering taking up modeling again (& have also comtemplated taking a Photography course).

~ NOW ~
herein lies the obstacle.

I logged on to create a profile at ModelMayhem.com, thinking I had enough of the right "Type" of Photos to satisfy their requirements.
Well, I was Denied.

So I rewrote my BIO, including more relevant info and changed up a few pics and uhhh,
well was DENIED again.

Now, i dont mean to stand up on a soapbox and seem like oh poor me, BUT ummm
i was curious to see what a few of the other newly/recently added profiles had that mine was lacking so I could remedy the situation.

And guess what - i was shocked - that so many had alot less experience than me and even less photographs/shots then i did (btw i had 10 shots uploaded) & 3 of the profiles i saw, the pics looked like casual family snapshots from a disposable camera.
And these were not PAID memberships... they were just the Free basic, getcha started profiles.

So MY Question is... ~ "How am I supposed to get started, to meet photographers to build a portfolio. Cause isn't that the Whole purpose of the Site - to help connect the models to the photographers & vice-versa??

SOOOO many people on there are doing Exactly what I am trying to do - AND they are doing it. In this tightass economy no-1 can afford to pay for a port, and Photographers (& students) are offering a cd copy of the shoot/pics as Payment for the Models time and talent.

Photographers are trying to fill a portfolio too, not to mention make a Name for themselves. And these days the more outta the box pix you have, the more versatility you demonstrate which in turn, attracts more variety Paying Clientele...

Now dont EVEN think, that I THINK, that im some stark raving beauty - cause i dont.
BUT - these days (& thaPROOFs in "MYCollections") Photographs aren't all glamour and fashion editorals and Size 0 bodies - thank goodness -

Tha world has changed my friend, & i do believe i have the "goods" so to speak.

I have enuff "stuff" inside of me (life experiences) and if you've read my BLOGS you'll know, it Aint all sweetness & light.

My background is I'm a Graduate of Barbizon Academy (modeling association)
Im a "community theater" Actress and have won audience appreciation awards and been featured in articles in our city's newspaper(w/other cast members)
I've done drama, fantasy/fairy-tale and yes, even comedy. One was actually a dark comedy.

now some might think so... wtf? who cares. what does that have to do with anything?

I feel it shows my range of emotions, Are models not "acting" in front of the camera?
Alot of models I've known always told me that they went somewhere in their past memories to bring up certain emotions ie: which showed in their facial expression & body language.

My reason for joining this Site is Modeling.
That is the area that I am applying for. (and also where I have the most experience).

I do not believe that I have one particular style. I have worked in the past as an actress, model, photographer(amatuer),and as my own MUA when it was needed - so I am extremely versatile and can LooK or "BE" whoever you want me to be for the Photo Shoot.

I guess you can say that I have a lot of "unprofessional" experience as I've done a lot of shoots and projects for my photographer & student friends. I myself am creative and artistic, so I know that my role at the shoots would be to bring my acting skills and personality into your vision and not be manipulative & self-absorbed, or a model who just does whatever they want, when they want to get a certain type of shot for their port...

I think thru who my character is,their feeling & emotions and create the appropriate
responses. With my acting experience I learned HOW to take Direction very well and can
provide my credits and awards upon request.

I am interested in & open to nearly all types of modeling - conceptual, expressive, glamour, social/religious/political commentaries, zombie/horror, effects, goth, noir, costume, implied nude/body paint (within certain parameters), decade-themed, geisha, gothic lolita, steam-punk, pin-up, kitsch, spoofs, etc, etc.

So it is quite possible that I would be interested in helping you to create the Vision that you have in your minds eye...
I am Definitely what you have been Looking for.

Although I might be open to a non-paying project in the near-future, I really would have to prefer the TFCDs and TFDVDs since one of my Main Goals here is to build my Portfolio.
(paying and travel-expense shoots are great too, if you have any!).

I am looking for wildly creative photographers to help me start off my Portfolio and then be able to take it to the next level & beyond by coming up with unique, unforgettable, Vivid, striking, images. I LOVE to work with people who can think outside the box and are not afraid to test the limits of convention. (ie: the sweater & pearls classic portrait)

Although now thinking of it - I just had the most UNconventional way come to mind how I
could switch up the sweater&earls lOOk to maKe it my own!! LOL. naughty-snookie


I love to shoot with people who have a great sense of humor (yet also kno When to be
serious) and artists who are completely Passionate about creating art With me.
I am especially interested in trying to work with as many different photographers as I can so I can add more variety to my port, which sadly is rather lacking at this point. lol! - (duh-the whole point of this BLOG!ha)

I am able to travel "some" distances if you can provide a detailed description of your ideas for the shoot and if it sounds like it is worthwhile for both of us, although I might require a travel expense depending on the actual mileage.

I'm currently living in CENTRAL Ohio.
